How to link Smart Links to your Custom Domain

You can now link your Smart Links to a domain bought on any platform.

If you have bought the domain on Instamojo the following DNS Settings will be automatically updated. You are not required to perform any of the following steps in that case.

If you have bought your domain from any other provider, follow the steps given below to point your domain to your Smart Links

  • Login to your domain provider’s website (from where you booked the domain). For example - GoDaddy, Big Rock, Google, etc.
  • Look for the Manage DNS option.
  • Once you have opened the DNS, add the below records to successfully point the domain to your Smart Links.
  • If you want to link your Smart Links to a subdomain (say www. ), update the following record
Type Value
CNAME   <subdomain of your choice> instamojo.link
  • If you are planning to link your Smart Links to a URL without a subdomain (say mybusiness.com or mybusiness.com/events), update the following record.

A record 13.235.176.172

How to update DNS records on Go Daddy?
  • Log in to your GoDaddy Domain Control Center.
  • Select your domain to access the Domain Settings page.
  • Under Additional Settings, select Manage DNS.
  • On the DNS Management page, select the edit DNS pencil icon next to the CNAME you need to edit.
  • If you want to link your Smart Links to a subdomain (say www. ), edit the details for your CNAME record:

                  host             < subdomain of your choice> 

                  Point to        instamojo.link

  • If you are planning to link your Smart Links to a URL without a subdomain (say mybusiness.com or mybusiness.com/events), on the DNS Management page, select the edit DNS
          • Point to 13.235.176.172
  • Select Save

 

How to update DNS records on Big Rock?

  • Login to your account.
  • Firstly, you need to log in to your Big Rock cPanel account. You will find a page with all the purchases made by you on the system.

If you want to link your Smart Links to a subdomain (say www. )

  • Click on the domain name for which you want to add a CNAME record. Now, click on the DNS management option on the right side of the page. Click on the ‘manage DNS’ option.
  • Click on the CNAME record tab and add a CNAME record. Now, enter the hostname as a subdomain of your choice (eg www) For value, select the second radio button and enter the value- instamojo.link Don’t edit the TTL value and click on the ‘add record’ option.
  • If you are planning to link your Smart Links to a URL without a subdomain (say mybusiness.com or mybusiness.com/events)
  • Click on "Add A Record"
    • Address - 13.235.176.172

 

How to update DNS records on Google Domains?

  • Sign in to Google Domains.
  • Click the domain you want to update.
  • Open the menu
  • Click the DNS icon
  • Scroll to the Custom Resource Records section. Set the custom resource record type your web host requires.
  • To create a specific type of record, follow these steps:

If you are planning to link your Smart Links to a URL without a subdomain (say mybusiness.com or mybusiness.com/events)add -" A record", and use these values:

    • In the first field, enter the subdomain of your choice ( eg -www)
    • In the dropdown menu, select A.
    • In the TTL field, enter "1H."
    • In the data field, enter 13.235.176.172
    • Click Add.

If you want to link your Smart Links to a subdomain (say www. ) -add a CNAME record, use these values:

    • In the first field, enter the subdomain of your choice (eg -www)
    • In the dropdown menu, select CNAME.
    • In the TTL field, enter "1H."
    • In the data field, enter instamojo.link
    • Click Add.
