What is a referral program & referral discounts?

By running a referral program you can gain new customers. Your registered customers can invite their friends to sign up at your store and make a purchase.

You can reward your registered customers with a discount amount when their invited friends sign up and complete a purchase at your store.

You can also reward your new customers, (those who were referred by your registered customers) when they complete their sign-up process in your store and make a purchase.

A reward will be shared with both the referrals and referees via an email in the form of a discount coupon. The discount coupon can be applied during their checkout in their next transaction. However, there will be a validity period that you need to set for the referral program, post which the discount coupons will expire.

How can I run a referral program?

In order to run a referral program, you need to set up the following rules.

Set up the discounted amount that you want to offer to your registered customers.
Set up a limit on how many invites a registered customer sends.
Set up a discounted amount that you want to offer to your referrals.
Set up an end date for the referral program. Post the end date, referral links will expire and both referrals and referees will not be able to claim their discounts.
A referral link will be auto-generated. This referral link can be shared with your registered customers via Email or SMS. Also, the referral program details will be available in your registered customers' store account.
The registered customers can share the referral link with their friends.
When the friends sign up at your store and also complete a purchase Instamojo will send an email to both the referral and referee with the discount coupon details.
The discount coupon can be applied on their next purchase in your store.

What happens to my existing referral program setup?

The existing referral program will be deleted from the old referral program page. Post the launch of the new referral program you will be able to see only the new referral program.

How do I check my existing referral program-related details?

The existing referral program-related coupon codes and the amount that you have offered on the existing referral program will be available under the coupons section.

How to identify my existing referral program-related coupon codes & whether the coupon codes have been availed or not.

The existing referral code's couple title will be auto-updated as “referral” under the coupon section if there are any buyer signups on your referral program.

Note: All your new referral codes will be available under the new referral program.

What happens to the discount codes that are shared with my customers?

The discount codes will be active as per their original validity set by you.
